West Chester, Pa. – After nearly eight months of organizing effort, West Chester Food Cooperative will be holding its first community wide meeting on March 15 from 3 to 5:00 PM at the Sprout Music Collective. The Co-op plans to use the meeting as an opportunity to communicate the progress made thus far and to lay out the path forward to bring a Food Cooperative to West Chester. It will be a chance for the community to meet Co-op leadership, ask questions, and learn how cooperatives work. Representatives from area co-ops will be in attendance and community leaders have been invited.
In December of last year, the Co-op conducted a Community Survey that revealed an overwhelming need for more education about food cooperatives. The Community Meeting will provide opportunities for those in attendance to explore the co-op world on their own terms, with plenty of co-op experts available to answer questions.
The Co-op is making a party of the occasion with refreshments and live music. It’s free (cash bar), family friendly, and open to everyone. Sprout is located at 130 Prescott Alley in West Chester and features live music served alongside cocktails and tapas from locally sourced ingredients. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to subscribe to the Co-op newsletter. You can follow the Food Co-op on Facebook at West Chester Food Co-op.
