West Chester Borough Considering Storm Water Assessment Fee

By -

Attention West Chester Residents and Business Property Owners

The Borough of West Chester has engaged the services of consulting firm CH2MHill to study the feasibility and plan for possible implementation of a Storm Water Assessment fee to finance needed improvements to the storm water system in West Chester and to meet new federal/state regulatory requirements. This fee, if deemed feasible and implemented, would finance needed improvements and programs with a fee that would apply to all property and would in some form be based on impervious coverage of owned property. Such a fee would have financial impact for all property owners but would enable the Borough if enacted to address pressing storm water infrastructure needs and demanding new federal regulations for storm water quality with an assessment system fairly applied to all contributors to the system.

The Borough is forming an advisory committee to assist with the process of evaluating the storm water assessment feasibility/plan and would like to have representation from a broad base of stakeholder’s including of course resident property owners and business property owners. It is likely the committee will meet 6-8 times over the next 6 – 7 months in order to produce recommendation for Borough Council.

If you are interested in volunteering to serve on the advisory committee please send me an email as soon as possible indicating your interest along with your address or the business property address you own. Thank you.
