West Chester, PA – November 26, 2013 –QVC, Inc. will be a major presence at this year’s Mars Drinks Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade Presented by QVC, on Friday, December 6 in West Chester, PA, “one of the top ten places to experience the arrival of Santa Claus during the holiday season” according to USA TODAY.

Hosted by the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce since 1976, the parade is a colorful and musical celebration of spectacular floats, high school and college marching bands that follows a one-mile loop through the heart of West Chester’s historic district, culminating with the much-anticipated arrival of Santa. It has grown to become one of the most popular events in the region, averaging approximately 35,000 spectators annually.


For the first time, the parade will be shared with viewers across the country through QVC’s live broadcast. QVC Program Host Albany Irvin will be on site providing live commentary for the QVC broadcast. QVC will also be capturing additional video content of the evening’s festivities to be aired Christmas Day. “QVC brings an exciting energy to the parade and we are delighted by this opportunity to showcase our community to the nation,” says Mark Yoder, President Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce. QVC is the world’s leading video and ecommerce retailer, reaching more than 106 million viewers in the US.

QVC program hosts Carolyn Gracie and Dan Hughes will be two of the emcees of the parade, which starts at 7:15 pm, joined by 6ABC’s Adam Joseph. QVC hosts Sharon Faetsch and Mary Beth Roe will be part of the parade along with the QVC Singers who will be performing throughout the evening. Visitors can meet and greet popular QVC hosts at QVC’s Holiday Village (located on North High Street) while being serenaded by the QVC Singers and enjoying tasty, free Cheryl’s Cookies and QVC Studio Tour Passes. Title Sponsor MARS Drinks of North America will provide delicious hot chocolate!

The fun gets underway at 5:30 with performances throughout West Chester. At 6:30, the 5th annual “Jingle Elf Run/Walk,” sponsored by ESC Janitorial and Maintenance to benefit the West Chester University Alumni Dance Chapter, kicks off. Registrants receive Jingle Elf hats to keep their ears warm for the 2-mile run or 1-mile walk along the parade route, with awards for creative holiday outfits and a cash prize for best elf costume.
