Stocking stuffers have always been a big deal in our family. Growing up, we saved our stockings until the very last thing we opened before bed on Christmas night because we spent so much of the day going from one place to another. Holidays were never restful, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. In my opinion, if you have time to feel bored on a holiday then it’s not going very well.
We always looked forward to our stockings on Christmas night because it felt like we were squeezing one last drop out of the day and Mom and Dad always made sure that there was at least one extra special gift inside.
Now that I have my own kids, I want to do the same, but I find that when it comes to very young children it’s harder to really “Rock” a stocking. I have had other moms ask me what I use for stocking stuffer and here is what I have come up with. These are also pretty good for Easter Baskets, just make them seasonal.
- Crayons/Paints/Markers/Art Supplies
- Small stuffed animals
- Playing cards Small/Travel games
- Chapstick/Lip Balm
- Nail polish
- Leap Pad games
- Flash lights
- Hair accessories
- Leg warmers
- Special snacks
So many of these are great for kids (or adults) of all ages, but I chose them because they can definitely work for little ones. Do you have any favorites that make their way into your Family’s stockings each year?
