New to the Website! Welcome Krapf Coaches!

By -

You see the buses all over town, but do you know the history of Krapf Coaches?

In 1942 a Chester County resident George Krapf Jr. was approached by a local school district to operate and maintain their first ever school bus.  As a local maintenance operator and highly respected community leader, the school district felt there was no one more qualified to handle the responsibility of transporting their children throughout Chester County.  Co-founder Eleanor “Grammie” Krapf is said to be the second woman to hold a CDL and drive a school bus in Pennsylvania.  She drove accident-free for over 25 years.

In 1982, George’s sons, Dale and Dallas, expanded into the charter business with the purchase of the company’s first motorcoaches.  Today, we operate 16 motorcoaches and many other vehicles providing transportation for groups of all sizes and events of all types to anywhere in the United States and Canada.

Our goal with each trip is to provide the safest, most reliable transportation solutions available.

Now in 2013 Krapf’s Coaches offers local and interstate charter service for groups of any size. Our charters travel anywhere in the United States and Canada. Our diverse fleet features everything from Corporate Shuttle Services to Mini and Deluxe Motor Coaches, as well as Luxury VIP Coach Services. Our meticulously maintained, modern fleet and professional drivers meet and maintain the safety criteria of both the United States Department of Transportation (US DOT) and the United States Department of Defense (US DOD).

Why Charter a Coach?

Motor Coaches are safe. The bureau of transportation reports that buses are twice as safe as flying and 46 times safer than driving an automobile.

Motor Coaches reach more destinations. Buses take you right to the doorstep of your destination. Planes and Trains only take you to the nearest stop.

Motor Coaches allow mobility. Coaches are available to taxi your group around for your entire day.

Motor Coaches are the most fuel efficient. Motor Coaches only use 797 BTU’s per passenger mile compared to using 4847, trains using 2450 and autos using 3639 according to the US Department of Transportation energy book data, 1999 (Bureau of transportation statistics, center for transportation analysis).

Motor Coaches are better for the environment. Because of their fuel efficiency, buses are better for the environment than most other alternatives.
