Stress is a worldwide epidemic and the cause of 75-90% of all visits to the doctor the past year. How do you perceive stress; work? traffic? relationships? What most people don’t know is that there are actually 3 types of stressors: Physical (athletic injuries, motor vehicle accidents, poor posture, etc), Emotional (relationships, finances, anxiety, etc.) and Chemical (beauty products, cleaners, second hand smoke, pollution, allergies, etc.). How our body internalizes and adapts to these stressors is the key! Our nervous system is responsible for processing and filtering the stress we are exposed to as well as controlling and coordinating the function of every cell, tissue and organ in our body.
