This week on Friday we will be celebrating 10 years of “GOING RED” by wearing red on February 1st. It has been 10 years of turning the tide for equal support for women in the study, prevention and treatment of heart disease.
Historically, heart disease research and treatment have been focused on men. Heart disease is the NUMBER ONE KILLER of women in America, more than 450,000 women each year. That means of the 1 in 5 women who currently have heart disease, a third will die. That is a woman dying of heart disease every 34 seconds!!!
