Fame Fire Company’s 175th Anniversary and Pennsylvania State Firemans Convention

 photo firefightersparade_zps170288a6.jpg This weekend was the four day long Pennsylvania Fireman’s Convention and Fame Fire Company’s 175th Anniversary Celebration.

Starting on Wednesday, September 25th, West Chester was teaming with firmen and women from all over the state. The events were kicked off with Fame’ 14th Annual Golf Outing and concluded with the Firemans Parade through West Chester’s Business District on Saturday, September 28th.

The parade rout took over 300 fire apparatus, marching units, local marching bands, floats and antiques past where the old Fame firehouse once stood on E. Market St. , down High St., past the West Chester University’s Asplundh Hall, and ended where Fame Fire Company currently resides at S. Matlack St and E. Rosedale Ave.

100 trophies were awarded in areas like best appearing and most functional apparatus. For a listing of all awards, go here.
