Downingtown Halloween Parade
Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 3:00 p.m.

The parade route will be along Pennsylvania Avenue between Beaver Creek Elementary School at 601 W. Pennsylvania Avenue heading east to the Kerr Park Gazebo. 
Participants in the parade must be at the staging area by 2:30 p.m.

Costumed participants will stage at Beaver Creek Elementary School and floats will stage at Grace Church at the corner of Lloyd and Pennsylvania Avenues.

All participants will need a number in order to be judged. Numbers are given out at the staging area.

• NUMBER: After picking up your number, place it on your costume where it can be seen by the judges.

LOCATE where your group is in front of Beaver Creek. Look for the signs:

• Individuals: 0-3, 4-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14 & up

• Pairs: 2 participants – only need one number
• Costumed Groups – 3 or more participants – only need one number
• Floats

All judging will take place at the end of the parade at Kerr Park. Prizes will be given out at this time. You need to participate in the parade in order to be part of the judging.

Categories & Age Groups

0-3, 4-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14 & up, Pairs, Costumed Groups & Floats

Bands, dancing and twirling units will not be judged. 
Performances must take place while the parade is moving.

NO Political entries!

STAY OFF THE STREET! Until the parade begins and your group is instructed to come out onto the street, please stay on the sidewalk or grass. Penna. Ave. will not close to traffic until 2:50pm. The parade personnel will instruct your group to get in line at the appropriate time.

FAMILIES: If you have children in different age groups and feel you need to keep them together for the parade, please be sure to walk with the group that the youngest child will be in. They can get in with their age appropriate group at the park. Judging will start when the first group gets to the park.
KERR PARK: Please listen to the parade personnel when you arrive. They will get your group in line and ready to be judged. Prizes will be given out when all groups have been judged.

FLOATS: All floats should pull into the parking lot of Kerr Park near the gazebo where they will be judged once everyone is there.

You do not have to register but if you are a float, dance or twirling group or a large costumed group it would be nice to know you are coming.

Event is for costumed participants and floats only!

Floats will be placed around the perimeter of the parking lot and costumed participants will parade around in the center.
