Coatesville Veteran’s Day Parade & Ceremonies

The Veterans Week Parade will take place on Friday, Nov. 8 at 9:30a.m. Veterans representing the Cold War will serve as Parade Grand Marshals and will be honored throughout the day.

Many local organizations and groups will celebrate Veterans, including high school marching bands and local fire and police departments. Classic cars and floats representing various VA health care services will participate. Veterans service organizations and mascots from Philadelphia sports teams are also expected. The parade is open to the community.

The formal Flag Raising Ceremony takes place later on Friday, Nov. 8 at 1p.m. in front of Building 1. Veterans and other participants will line up and proceed to the American Flag flying high at the top of the hill. A ceremony that calls all to reflect on the meaning of the flag will ensue.

Veterans representing the Cold War will be especially honored during this celebration. A Veterans Day Salute takes place on Monday, November 11 at 10:45a.m. at Veterans Plaza on First Avenue and Lincoln Highway in Coatesville, Pa.

The Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 1777 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 287 host the event where participants will speak about Veterans Day. The observance concludes with the laying of a wreath at the base of the Coatesville Veterans Council War Memorial. – See more at:
