“Night at the Derby” Party Aims to Raise $75,000 for DVCCC

Night at the Derby” charity fundraiser on Friday, May 3, 2013 in Phoenixville, PA will benefit the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County.

The party hopes to raise $75,000 to support DVCCC’s mission to provide intervention, education, outreach, advocacy, and programs to prevent, reduce and remedy domestic violence in Chester County. Coordinated by the board of directors with the help of volunteers, the party aims to increase previous attendance records and raise critical operating funds for DVCCC. A significant portion of DVCCC’s operating budget is raised by philanthropy.

Kicking off on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Phoenixville Foundry in Phoenixville, “Night at the Derby” is poised to be the premier pre-party event for the annual Kentucky Derby held the next day.

Mistress of Ceremonies for the party is Tracy Davidson, Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist and anchor for NBC10 News.

Guests will be served a complimentary Mint Julep upon arrival, then enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres, stroll through gourmet food stations, and bid on unique auction items. Back by popular demand the dance band “The Strangers” will be providing music guaranteed to keep guests on the dance floor. For some whimsical fun, to keep with the Derby theme, there will also be a Hat Contest with prizes awarded for Win, Place and Show.
