Ok everyone, my most sincere apologies for the time it has taken me to bring you more exciting travel updates. Fact is that sometimes life gets in the way of my travel, as I’m sure we can all attest to at some point or another. That said, this is in fact a short little preliminary post about our upcoming adventure and to invite all of you along for the ride via social networks.
Next Saturday Kelly and I are taking off (literally) for Las Vegas!! We try to make it out there at least once a year as a matter of good practice. One, it’s a nice warm weather location when PA gets gloomy and cold. Plus I have family there, and I’m always a good reason to bend the rules of normalcy just a touch.
For those of us who have been to Vegas, at least a couple of times, we all know the approach into McCarren Int’l looking at The Strip grow larger and larger. Then of course the familiar drive to our resort destination and all the bustling excitment that comes with it. For some of us it is the pool, for some the casinos, the shows or even just walking up and down The Strip with one of the frozen drinks in the tall plasic Eiffel Tower from Paris. Whatever the case may be, Vegas has something to offer everyone.
But…what many don’t get to experience is a side of Vegas that Kelly and I see whenever we head to Sin City…the locals side. Off The Strip there exists a vast city, full of nooks and crannies that host culinary delights, watering holes not for the faint of heart and 5-star entertainment for all ages. Few venture further south on Las Vegas Blvd than Mandalay Bay, maybe South Point. This time around, Kelly and I want to take you to the sights that are usually only reserved for locals eyes only. So stay tuned for us to bring you Vegas, local style.
As a fun addendum to my Vegas blog series, I want to invite you all to follow the play by play action while we are there via Instagram and Twitter! Look me up @steelbluemind on both networks and come along with us as we romp around Las Vegas!
