Eat Real Be Well Health & Wellness Coaching

Food is my passion! As a Health and Wellness Coach, I am excited to work with women, helping them to make small changes without feeling stressed or deprived. I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods.

Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals. My specialty – helping women care for themselves and their families without feeling stressed out or deprived.
I grew up with my mom and sister having hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). My mom made her own bread, baked healthy cookies which I traded with my friends at lunch for Oreos. We moved a lot and pretty much everywhere we lived there was a vegetable garden and a farmers market to go to.

Of course during my high school college years where I had more control of what I put in my mouth I ate 7-eleven nachos for breakfast, drank blue kool-aid , gulped six packs of coke and reveled in peanut butter and fluff. I can’t say how all the crap I put in my body made me feel, I never paid attention.

It wasn’t until I had kids that I really paid attention to what we ate, the chemicals I was using and how they all might be affecting us. My oldest had a severe reaction to antibiotics and the introduction of milk at one year old and I started reading ingredient labels. That is when I realized that what I had been feeding my family wasn’t even food. Just chemicals. It took over a year to heal Brian. We went to doctors and specialists, had tests done and no one had the answer as to why he couldn’t digest anything. It was left to me and trial and error.
That was the beginning of the end for me. They say knowledge is power and so it was for me. I began reading and what I read was scary. So I changed what we ate. I changed how I spent my money. Not overnight, not all at once, just one bite at time. I would stop buying certain things or going to certain restaurants. They were replaced with something else, something better.

The journey started 11 years ago and it still continues.

I am lucky. I live in Pennsylvania and am surrounded by local farms and farmers markets. I know these farmers, they are my friends. I know where my food comes from.
Together with what I have learned from my own experiences, those of the farmers I have met and my continuing education at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, this site is for you to find new places to check out, try a new recipe, simplify your weeknight meals, take action, or find some great reading material.
