Chester County Art Association’s Paint the Town Plein Air Painting and Photography Competition was held this year from Tuesday, May 29th to Friday, June 1st. Local and regional artists could be seen painting, drawing and photographing throughout West Chester Borough. One such artist bringing West Chester to life through his lens was Robert Lott.
After working as an engineer for 43 years at DuPont, Robert is now directing his creativity toward nature, landscape and urban decay photography. “I had a wonderful time roaming the streets of West Chester and the West Chester University campus. West Chester has so many beautiful landscapes to capture.” Most of Bob’s images are HDR images with some further processed in Topaz Simplify to take out details, providing a more painterly look.
All the submitted works were judged and prizes awarded for the following categories: Best of Show Photography, Best of Show Painting & Drawing, Peoples’ Choice Photography, Peoples’ Choice Painting & Drawing, Best streetscape, Best alleyway, Best architectural scene and Best garden/landscape. Robert was notified a week after judging, “I found out yesterday, after the voting was tallied, that my images were awarded People’s Choice for photography. Two of these images have already sold!”
